J. Matt Switzer is an assistant professor of mathematics in the Andrews Institute for Mathematics and Science Education at Texas Christian University. His research interests include early algebra, student generalizations and meaning making, and symbolization in mathematics.

Kelley Buchheister is an assistant professor in early childhood education at the University of South Carolina. Her research interests include discourse patterns in mathematics and students' interpretations of mathematical representations.

Barbara Dougherty is the Richard G. Miller Endowed Chair for Mathematics Education, University of Missouri. She conducts research related to developing elementary mathematics through a quantitative reasoning approach.
