Anthony M. Rodriguez,, is an assistant professor of education at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. He taught mathematics at Cibola High School in Albuquerque and T'siya Elementary and Middle School at Zia Pueblo, New Mexico; in 2011, as a result of the work of the students featured in this article, he was selected for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, given by The Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico.
